Senior Technical Consultant - Security Operations

Your new company 

Hays Technology are currently partnered with a well-established Client to appoint an experienced Technical Consultant - Security Operations to a 6-month contract with potential extension.

Your new role 

As the Technical Consultant / Security Operations Engineer, you will have a strong background in Checkpoint Firewalls, support and maintenance to join our Brisbane-based team. You will also provide development and support to the Client’s strategic Network Security platforms, including Cloud Adoption, Firewalls, Load balancers, Proxy services, Endpoint Protection, and encryption. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include:

• Delivery of Security Operations. Including but not limited to Support and Maintenance of on premise and cloud-based platforms, Incident Response and Resolution 
• Provide technical leadership to drive, assist and contribute with investigations into potential solutions. 
• Liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design, costing and specifications 
• Provide mentoring and assist in building team capability though continuous knowledge sharing 
• Ensure that the Client maintains a highly available, and highly secure network security platform across both internally and externally hosted environments 

What you'll need to succeed 

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience within a Network Security Operations role 
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working within, and supporting large enterprise environments 
• CCNP, Checkpoint, CIISP certifications highly regarded 
• Extensive experience of the following: 

1. Checkpoint Firewall, Citrix Netscaler load balancing, Routing and Switching (Cisco), Proxy Services (Cloud Based) 
2. IPSEC VPN, AWS, Azure (VPN, NSG, landing Zones, IaaS Adoption), Public Cloud Peering e.g. Megaport, VMware (NSX-T or newer is highly desirable) 
3. Knowledge of Scripting/Automation (DevSecops)
