DXC's Experience Design & Build team plays a critical role in enabling our clients to transform their digital landscape. Through a human-centric approach, our cross functional teams team partner with major corporate and government clients to co-create, implement and embed innovative and effective strategies and organisational change solutions designed to bring their vision and technologies to life.

We are looking for a Service Designer to join our team. Based in Brisbane or Sydney, you would join a passionate team of over 30 working from across the country. The Service Designer's primary objective is to understand our client's service or product offering and their user's needs and to drive the co-design of better services.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist to plan and drive the HCD research and design processes for the development of products and services that delight users and support digital transformation.
  • Collaborate on the co-design the of end-to-end products and services, from discovery and ideation through to high quality delivery, sustainment and improvement
  • Effectively perform synthesis, analysis, prioritisation and alignment activities with clients to make decision e and make decisions based on insight, focused user research and data insights and business requirements
  • Create products and services that are contemporary, sustainable and meet web accessibility standards to help our clients succeed and gain the competitive edge
  • Understand and cater for the user base to ensure accessibility and inclusion for optimal experiences for clients and their users.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to articulate the service environment and the proposed designs, including service blueprints, user journeys and hybrid maps.
  • Be able to communicate ion bridge between our clients and other design team members, and internal development teams.
  • Provide guidance and monitor and assistance to other cross functional design team members who to follow contribute to the service design and delivery process where necessary.
  • Participate in other activities to improve the service design of the product and other process alignment
  • Directly report to Experience Design Capability Lead, Practice Partner or Senior Consultant directly to client

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple workloads (potentially across different clients)
  • Experience in a Service Design role (in a client-facing environment)
  • Good knowledge of service design delivery processes and Human Centred Design principles
  • Must have the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple workloads (potentially across different clients)
  • Ability to compose and manage service design artifacts for each phase of the service design delivery process.
  • Strong design thinking skills with a positive attitude toward conducting research and to applying emerging technologies to ideation and design.
  • Understanding and appreciation of different skillsets within multidisciplinary design teams (including user research, interaction design and user experience specialists)
  • Well-versed in working in agile design and delivery teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both a technical audience and business users.
  • Good at presentation, time management and client relationship building.
  • Good command of English communication (both oral and written)
  • Good interpersonal, facilitation and collaboration skills
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders.
  • A desire to contribute to the broader success of the Experience Design team by participating in our Community of Practice or Digital Transformation Centre projects.
  • Working knowledge with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe CS/CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.), Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, Mural or other design tools is a bonus.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager or other solutions
  • Knowledge of the Australian Government Digital Service Standard, Inclusive Design practices and Service Design and Delivery ApproachWCAG 2.0 is an advantage.
  • Experience working with or in public sector is not essential but useful.
