This is a large international OEM, who operate in over 100 countries. They specialise in earthmoving equipment and are renowned for developing the latest technologies. This Service Manager position is workshop-based, located in Yatala.
The Role
The Service Manager is responsible for managing the OEM service across QLD. This includes overseeing the service department operations, financial performance, and customer relationships. The role will manage a service team of up to 10x Plant Mechanics, 2x Leading Hands, and 1x Service Supervisor.
Key Duties
• Manage and mentor the service team, supporting their efficiency and productivity
• Oversee daily service work scheduling and job sheets
• Manage and build customer relationships, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered
• Coordinate with external contractors as required
• Oversee staff training and onboarding processes
• Conduct performance reviews
• Liaise with internal sales teams regarding the commissioning and training of new machines
• Liaise with the parts department to assist with their requirements
• Ensure all work orders are completed and updated on internal systems, for service administration team to process
• Maintain a respectful and professional approach towards all staff and customers
Skills and Experience Required
• Australian recognised trade qualification (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Minimum 5 years people management experience
• Australian Drivers Licence
• Experience in process improvement and management of financial outcomes
• Strong interpersonal/rapport building skills
• Ability to develop a positive team environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level organisational and administration management skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
