Based out of Ingleburn Sydney and with operations spanning across Europe and the US, this company seeks a mid-level experienced Service Technician for installation, fault finding, maintenance and service repairs across Sydney.
Your RoleAs an entry to mid-level Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining technology solutions, conducting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities, completing site surveys, and addressing client inquiries and requests. You will assess hardware and installation functionality and prepare service reports. The role also includes working with web user interfaces and cloud-based infrastructure, integrating hardware with operating systems.
Reporting to the Project Engineering Lead within the Services Team, you will collaborate with Project Engineers, Service Technicians and the Fleet Manager.
Key Responsibilities- On-road assembling, fault finding and servicing of equipment
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities
- Assessing hardware and installation functionality and preparing reports
- New site surveys to assess the suitability of locations for future deployments
- Responding to and actioning client requests and inquiries
- Handling customer and inter-company relations professionally
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Qualifications & Experience- TAFE or university qualification in either electronic, electrical or computer related fields
- Previous Service Technician, engineering or manufacturing industry experience (2+ years)
- Experience with electronic and computer systems, and the skill to interpret and edit technical diagrams, drawings, schematics or plans (preferred)
- A valid Australian driver's license (ability to tow 2-tonne trailers or willingness to learn)
- National police and driving history will be required
- Right to work full-time in Australia
- Comfortable working at heights and on the roadside
- Flexibility to work/travel at short notice on occasion
- Great communication skills especially to subcontractors
You are experienced, technically minded and can work to a high level of accuracy. You are a great communicator, enjoy working in a team environment and can adapt to company culture.
- Superior technical, troubleshooting, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical data/diagrams and electrical schematics
- Familiar and confident with computers/IT based work and networking (knowledge of UNIX Systems, Command Line and PowerShell would be highly regarded). A willingness to learn new skills/programs is essential
- Knowledge of networking equipment (switches, patch panels, VLAN, routers, firewalls, VPN, etc.)
- Mechanical and small diesel engine knowledge and skills are desirable
- Can perform research and analysis and take appropriate actions with minimal supervision
