Based in Fortitude Valley, 3rd Space provides care and support to some of our community’s most vulnerable people – those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. We offer a safe environment with direct service intervention that aims to collaborate with visitors to the centre to break the cycle of homelessness.
Our services range from centre-based activities, such as a low-cost café, day rest area, showers and laundry facilities, to medical services and professional advice on housing, legal and wellbeing matters. Individual and family support is provided to increase stability of housing.
Our vision to break the cycle of homelessness is reflected in our mission to support people today and prepare them for tomorrow and our values of respect, dignity, persistence and integrity.
The Services Team, led by the Services Manager is essential to achieving this vision and is currently in a phase of expansion.

About the RoleThe Services Manager reports to the CEO and works as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, engaging in and implementing decisions made to operationalise the strategic direction as determined by the Board of Directors. The position provides leadership, management, oversight and direction to the Services Team.
About You
- You are a proven Services Manager with extensive experience in the human services sector.
- You possess a degree level tertiary qualification in human services, Social Work or Social Science
- You have knowledge of the impact of homelessness on individuals and families, as well as the ability to work in a trauma-informed and person-centred framework.
- You have knowledge of the impact of intergenerational trauma for First Nations peoples.
- You are an experienced change manager.
- You have managed teams.
- You have experience working as a member of an organisation’s executive team to achieve outcomes.
- You are aligned with 3rd Space’s vision, mission and values.
- You are committed to providing high quality services to others.
- You have excellent communication skills across a range of stakeholders, internal and external.
- You have excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
