As a Shift Supervisor at Mackay Sugar, you'll play a pivotal role in our on-site production team, overseeing operations during both the crushing and maintenance seasons. You'll lead by example, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality standards are met. With your expertise in industrial processing and demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment, you'll guide your team towards success while driving continuous improvement initiatives. About you
Reporting to the site Production Superintendent, as a Shift Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in our on-site production team, leading with a focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork. During the maintenance season (non-crush), you will help co-ordinate and supervise safe and efficient maintenance of the plant including delivery of improvement initiatives. A detailed position description is available on request.
The preferred candidate should possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Applied Science or Sugar Technology (desirable)
- Minimum of 5 years knowledge and understanding of industrial processing
- Experience in and knowledge of environmental management systems and processes
- Knowledge and end experience in the operation of a manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a Production and / or Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a team, develop employees and identify improvement opportunities
- Problem solving, proactive and energetic approach
