Choofas Smokehouse & Seafood is a well established family owned restaurant and bar located in the heart of Coolangatta offering a combination of Fresh and Cooked Seafood, American Style BBQ Meats, Steaks, Ribs, Wings, Chicken, Burgers and Salads. Specializing in Australian Angus and Wagyu Steaks, Choofas also sources fresh local Seafood, including live Crab, Cray Fish, Prawns and Bugs.
Choofas Horn Bar offers a range of Australian wines, tap beers, along with an extensive range of Rums, Bourbons, Whiskeys and local Gins.
We are looking for a highly experienced Shift Supervisor/Senior FOH, to work with our Restaurant Manager and offer an attractive salary to be negotiated. There is the potential for the role to develop into a fulltime position for the right candidate.
About the Role and Responsibilities
- This is a hands on role requiring someone who understands that the priority of the business is to ensure our guests experience the highest possible standard of food and drinks service in a relaxed welcoming space.
- The successful candidate will have the proven ability to supervise, lead and motivate our FOH and bar staff in a calm, constructive and collaborative manner while working under pressure, delivering our guests an enjoyable memorable experience.
- You will be required to demonstrate your extensive skills and knowledge of food and drinks service to our team to help them improve their performance, as well as communicate with all employees and patrons in a respectful and professional manner ensuring all staff communicate with their colleagues and guests in a similar way.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations from opening to closing procedures and conduct regular pre-shift huddles.
- Ensure all FOH and bar staff are adhering to company procedures and processes along with compliance of workplace health and safety regulations whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Competent in Point of Sale and restaurant reservation systems, reconciliation of tills and producing end of shift reports as well as experience with computer hardware and software programs enabling you to carry out the required aspects of the role.
- Ensure restaurant equipment is stocked to appropriate levels for service.
- Specific job Skills Required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar Restaurant Management role.
- Ability to work in Australia without any restrictions and to communicate confidently and clearly in English both verbally and written.
- Must be available to work full time on weekdays, weekends and some public holiday and have full Australian drivers license.
- Hold a valid RSA and current certification in food safety, as required under the QLD Food Safety guidelines.
- Be highly organised, with high standards of personal presentation and integrity, encouraging the same of others.
