This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Shift Supervisor to assume responsibility for the day to day supervision of production activities and relevant production employees at our Lara site. This role will work rotating shifts.
Reporting directly to the Shift Manager and working closely with the Production Manager, Site Manager and other relevant production, administration and maintenance staff, the successful applicant will be action-orientated and have demonstrated leadership abilities to drive the achievement of company objectives for the Lara site.

The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Work in conjunction with the Site Manager, Production Manager and Shift Manager to ensure the Health and Safety of all employees and visitors to the site, in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations;
- Ensure all safety and quality procedures and systems are implemented and adhered to, including JSAs, safety permits, SOPs, incident and near miss reporting;
- Ensure the quality of product leaving the site complies with our customers' specifications and Ridley's agreed quality standards;
- Monitor the supply of raw materials to ensure quantities are maintained to meet production requirements;
- Work with the management team to oversee the repairs and maintenance of all production equipment at the site to support Quality and production objectives;
- Directly responsible for the supervision of employees on shift
- Lead personnel through effective task allocation and by setting and maintaining clear standards of behaviour and performance criteria in support of the company objectives;
- Maintain daily production records
- Actively support site initiatives in line with Ridley programs, community links, responsible recycling/ waste programs, environmental requirements
The key skills required for this role include
- Proven leadership skills within a manufacturing environment and prepared to undertake additional training where necessary;
- Competent in hazard identification and risk management coupled with a sound knowledge of quality assurance and control methods and production management issues
- Effective communication skills;
- Results driven with the desire to see their team succeed;
- Attention to detail with the ability to query inconsistencies;
- High level of initiative and accountability;
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills;
- Basic computer skills;
- A strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement;
- Passionate about quality of production and adhering to safety standards;
