Focus Minerals (FML) is a leading Australian gold explorer with tenure in Coolgardie and Laverton, two exciting gold regions in WA, and is the largest landholder in the Coolgardie goldfields with over 450sq km of tenements near its 1.2 Mtpa Three Mile Hill processing plant. With an extensive pipeline of projects for development and significant regional exploration potential, Focus is well positioned to become one of Australia’s newest sustainable gold producers. Resumption of operations has recently commenced, and you have an opportunity to be part of the processing team.
The Role
Shift Supervisor contribute to the optimised performance of the fixed plant operations by safely and efficiently operating and troubleshooting plant components such as crushers, conveyors, mills, leach/absorption tanks, pumps and other equipment and activities relating to the Coolgardie Gold Operations (CGO) gold processing plant.
Duties include:
- Monitor equipment on an ongoing basis to ensure safe and cost-efficient operations to maximise efficiency, reduce downtime, prevent damage and lower maintenance costs.
- Identify and communicate safety, environmental and production issues on a shift-by-shift basis to the Production Superintendent.
- Maintain high level of housekeeping, resource conservation, spill prevention and the appropriate disposal of wastes.
- Recognize, report, and manage / control any potential or actual hazards identified and assist team members to identify hazards more effectively.
- Provide mentoring and training to team members as required.
- Safely and efficiently assign resources to ensure all areas of the process plant are operated to meet targets and KPI’s in a timely fashion.
- Undertake inspections of all working areas as required to ensure safe operations and comply with the relevant acts and legislation.
- Conduct work observations to ensure team carry out their duties to ensure safe and efficient operation complying with Company standards and operating procedures.
- Liaise with Metallurgists regarding operating parameters and technical issues in relation to plant operation and communicate to relevant operators.
- Closely work with maintenance teams to ensure maximum availability and production of the process plant.
- Provide assistance to the Gold Room and associated circuits, including providing coverage, as required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Previous experience within a Senior Process Operator position
- Previous experience within a gold processing plant
- Knowledge and experience using Pronto
- Exposure to Citect software
- Intermediate computer skills
- High Risk Work licence and nationally accredited training in Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights (desirable)
- Ability to lead a collaborative team environment
- Valid WA driver's licence
