Aquila Resources Pty Ltd is a Perth based company that is now in an exciting phase for one of our Iron Ore projects with the first Iron Ore shipment due for exportation in June 2024.
The Role
The function of the Shipping Coordinator is to facilitate all facets of pre and post shipping of Iron Ore from the Pilbara region in Western Australia to overseas clients. This role is a full-time position requiring an immediate start.
Your role will consist of the following duties:
- Coordinate pre and post shipment operational activities to facilitate bulk commodity loading and offloading processes.
- Ensuring compliance is consistently met with necessary supporting documentation.
- Monitor and report on current or potential changes to shipping regulations to maintain compliance.
- Preparation of sales and shipping documentation with quality checks.
- Manage, mitigate and communicate operational issues or time delays.
- Coordinate discharge processes.
- Drafting of invoices in accordance with shipments and contractual agreements.
- Maintain a close relationship with logistics and customers to maintain good relations.
- Provide shipping updates and forecasts to the Iron Ore Department.
- Provide costs for budgeting purposes to the Finance Department.
- Communicate effectively with ports, shipping brokers, agents and other stakeholders to achieve efficient and successful shipping activities.
As a proactive Shipping Coordinator, it is essential that you have a high level of organisational and time management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
Attributes of the successful candidate:
- 2-3 years in a similar role.
- Experience in bulk commodity shipping within the mining or resources industry.
- Bachelor of Business in relevant major is highly regarded.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate excellent time keeping skills.
- A desire to continuously learn and work on a broad range of tasks.
- Full time availability.
