SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER

Full Time 

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Senior Finance Officer to join the finance team at the Shire of York. 

The role requires someone to:

• Coordinate audits including liaising with the external audit teams as required.
• Undertake reviews of financial assets, revaluations & depreciation. 
• Grant Funding Management - maintain the Grant Register, assist with grant preparation and acquittal (WA Local Govt Grants Commission, Roads to Recovery and other grants). 
• Complete annual insurance renewal documentation, reviewing and updating the Shire’s insurance schedule as required.
• Process insurance claims.
• Provide supporting information to the Finance Manager to prepare monthly and annual financial reports. 
• Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of the annual budget and Mid-Year Review. 
• Oversee the Shire’s debt recovery process.
• Provide support to the broader finance team as required.
• Maintain Council’s financial records in accordance with relevant legislation and associated accounting standards.

Remuneration: 

The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 6 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Collective Enterprise Agreement 2019 ($83,469 – 88,378). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s age, skills and experience.

11.00% superannuation plus salary sacrificing option with matching Shire contribution up to 3.5%.
