About the role:
The Fixed Plant Shutdown team is currently seeking a Shutdown Scheduler to join the team on a 4/3 days only roster based at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Shutdown Execution Superintendent , you will be responsible for scheduling shutdown activities at the Port facility. The Scheduler will also work with the planning, engineering and execution teams to implement effective equipment maintenance strategies and manage the health of fixed plant assets with the objective of optimising equipment reliability.
Duties:
- Develop an executable major shutdown schedule with the assistance of the shutdown supervisors and the planning team
- Identify Critical path sequences for each area to ensure shutdown durations meet budget
- Identify statutory and high-risk tasks through the scheduling process to eliminate/manage risks prior to the execution phase
- Develop and refine accurate work scopes for shutdown activities ensuring that estimates for labour, skills, materials, equipment, and external services are included
- Conduct regular reviews with shutdown supervisors and planners between shutdowns optimising the schedule
- Work with the shutdown labour resource scheduler building and optimising the labour service requests
- Attend site through the shutdown execution period to live track the schedule adherence, monitor labour constraints, break in work and flag any shutdown risks
- Conduct reviews of shutdown achievement and report as appropriate
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive MS Project & Scheduling experience
- Basic SAP knowledge
- Proven experience in Shutdown execution and schedule development and management
- Current WA Drivers Licence, Unrestricted C Class
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of materials handling equipment including large conveyor systems, car dumpers, stackers and reclaimers
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or similar technical field; or an appropriate trade qualification with a demonstrated combination of training and experience
