An opportunity currently exists for a Site Manager, based at our Tennyson site, on a full-time permanent basis. The primary purpose is to effectively manage the operation of a large and complex manufacturing site including production, maintenance, logistics, quality control, company policies and standards and purchasing. The position requires excellent budget control along with innovation and improvement drawn from industry knowledge and business plans.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of site operations which include Safety, People, Quality and Operations.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement to ensure improved site operations efficiencies, which includes Safety, quality & service.
- Manage activities within the legislative and ethical standards consistent with Company corporate and community identity.
- Assist and manage the operational implementation of Quality Management systems, Food safety systems and Occupational health and safety systems.
- Ensure the site is audit-ready at all times.
- Drive safety first and culture across the site.
- Drive employees engagement and manage industrial relations.
- Lead HR activities onsite, including recruitment, performance management, talents growth and development.
- Drive and manage site financials, that include stocktake accuracy, inventory management, and conversion cost.
- Ensure accurate on time reporting.
- Manage the statutory and regulatory requirements to the site.
- Exhibit the right leadership both within site and cross functionally.
The successful candidate will have,
- Tertiary qualification (preferable engineering related).
- Trade certification – Milling (Compulsory).
- Minimum 10-15 years’ experience Milling Industry (Compulsory).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in site or operations management of a medium to large scale complex production environment.
- Excellent manufacturing industry knowledge.
- A proven team player.
- Capital deployment and project implementation management.
- Good reasoning ability and problem solving skills.
- Superior motivational skills – being pro-active.
- Lean / Six Sigma or similar CI skills.
- Superior analytical and conceptual skills.
- Proven leadership qualities with good people management skills.
