Tasmanian Stockfeed Services is the leading manufacturer of stock feed and associated services in Tasmania. This Tasmanian family owned and operated company was established in 2006 and continues to enjoy consistent and continual growth. The business has its head office in Launceston and mill and warehousing operations in Devonport, Burnie and Mildura.
An exciting opportunity exists to join our business to play an important role in supporting our warehousing and manufacturing capabilities. This role will lead the operations at our Burnie warehouse and manufacturing site and provide warehousing and manufacturing support to all areas of the business.
We are looking for someone who can work with and lead a small team and someone who can operate effectively and efficiently in a highly dynamic and challenging environment. You will be a positive and proactive person who is willing to be an active participant in the operations on site. You will be highly flexible in the tasks you performed, willing to pitch as required and ensure the site remains compliant at all times. The successful candidate will have experience in managing staff and site operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and oversee safe and efficient operations on site, working closely with key stakeholders
- Undertake all warehousing and manufacturing tasks on site
- Complete all required site documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Complete computer work as required
- Comply with all operational, procedural and safety instructions, guidelines and training
- Operate plant, equipment and machinery once licenced and trained
- Undertake various heavy and repetitive manual handling tasks regularly throughout the shift
- Maintain hygiene levels on site in accordance with Feedsafe accreditation and quarantine requirements
- Ensure stocktake and stock rotation duties are completed and manage returns/non-conforming stock
- Report all incidents as soon as possible
- Provide relief coverage and support to the Devonport operations as required
- Provide training to others and undertake further training as necessary
Key capabilities required include:
- Available to work weekday shift work at the Burnie site
- Able to provide relief coverage and support to the Devonport site
- Previous supervisory, manufacturing and warehousing experience
- Current forklift licence mandatory, telehandler and skid steer licence/training highly desirable
- Be physically fit and able to complete repetitive manual handling tasks, including weights up to 25kgs
- Has excellent leadership and people management skills and experience
- Have a safety first mentality and a willingness to undertake training as required
- Are positive, proactive, flexible, self-motivated and highly dependable
- An active team player who is able to work effectively without supervision
- High level of attention to detail and follows task through to completion
- Mechanical/technical aptitude would be advantageous
- Computer literacy, including the use of Microsoft Office software
- Be able to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
- Be willing to undertake a national police check and be able to successfully obtain a Level 1 Marine Security Identification Card (MSIC) if required
