We currently have a role for an Estimator with some exposure to Engineering to provide a central point of contact with technical and engineering support to the bids, tenders and proposals department. With a focus on estimates for tender deliverables.
THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY
- Visit sites as appropriate and appraise requirements of the scope of work provided.
- Review specification and drawings to complete bid review form.
- Issue subcontract bid invitations.
- Analyse subcontract prices for comparison.
- Review and update pre-bid strategies.
- Prepare concept layouts for estimating take offs
- Perform quantity take-offs.
- Perform bid evaluations.
- Prepare a final estimate sheet for review.
- Prepare proposal/bid document.
- Provide pricing in a timely manner.
- Follow up tender results and update tender register
- Update tendering database information (electronic and hard copy)
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Maintain and update CRM database regularly.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator
- Experience working for an EPC /mining company.
- Site project-based experience.
- Bachelor/Diploma in Engineering desirable or suitably experienced trade background in the relevant field.
- Contractual and commercial acumen. Understanding of contractual and commercial terminology.
- Exposure to project schedules and construction and assembly methodologies.
- Proficient in use of all Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Demonstrated Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with Clients, stakeholders and key relationship members at all
- levels.
