Job description

About the Organisation:
Logan Together is an industry-pioneering not-for-profit leader radically changing best practice ideas and methodologies on how to effectively partner with local communities to improve the well-being of community members. Logan Together has demonstrated impressive results in supporting vulnerable children in the Logan Community and is experiencing rapid growth supported by incredible funding opportunities.

This organisation is directly shaping the future of community support and engagement across the entire Australian not-for-profit sector. The highly
successful whole-of-community initiative uses its Collective Impact approach to make a difference. This pioneering organisation has developed its Shared Decision-Making model with the community to bring key stakeholders together to work collaboratively and in partnership with each other to impact the Early Childhood system, prioritising outcomes for children, families, the community, and the system itself.

By building strong collaboration between community leaders, philanthropists, government and other critical stakeholders, this evidence-based initiative is measurably improving the provision of effective services, enhancing trust with the community, de-risking key challenges for government agencies and creating a more harmonious community for all. This is an opportunity to join a phenomenal organisation at an exciting time when it is experiencing unprecedented growth.

About the Role
You will be reporting directly to the Executive Director in this critical leadership role. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss if you are passionate about creating social change, consider yourself a leader and community partner, and someone driven to improve the lives of children.

This role will be incredibly rewarding, challenging, and inspiring but complex. You will need to build a talking platform and vision alongside community leaders to develop programs that will make a collective impact.

Key facets of this role will include:
  • Guide strategy – You will work with the community and partners to generate a multidimensional yet integrated strategy and convert effort to impact.
  • Maintain and grow the Logan Together culture – Our success at Logan Together is founded on our three pillars: First Nations First. Children at the Hert. Community-Led. Nurturing our Ways of Working will be a critical element of the role
  • Provide strategic support to deliver key initiatives– You will be tasked with the end-to-end project management of multiple, intersecting community-based projects and state and national influencing activities while working in a small, adaptable, and nimble team.
  • Networking and Collaboration – Work closely with community members and leaders to understand community challenges, pain points, and desires, bringing the corresponding hard data into the conversations in meaningful ways.
  • Codifying the practice of Community-led, place-based Collective Impact - Influence government policy around Social and Economic initiatives by interfacing and working closely with ministerial panels and government departments while promoting shared learning. This will support the scaling and depth of the work, locally and across Australia.
  • Co-designing and Facilitating Events – Building cohesion and partnerships within the community and with services, big business and government departments will require developing, planning and running events and immersion experiences that bring community members and partners together.
  • Sustainability and Investment – Partner closely with corporations, government departments and philanthropists to drive revenue flows and improve funding so it meets community needs and priorities in line with the evidence.
  • Evolve a new Funding Model – You will be supporting stakeholders to enhance and improve existing funding initiatives. This will involve learning and understanding current funding models while working to develop an improved funding model that builds long-term sustainability, reflecting the intergenerational nature of the model.
  • Data and Evaluation – Provide high-level oversight to the complex Data and Evaluation strategy of Logan Together which monitors our impact and informs strategy
Your Profile:
To succeed and thrive in this incredibly unique, inspiring and complex role, it will be highly advantageous if you have qualifications or experience in data and evaluation, policy, partnership brokerage, investment for social change, and Collective Impact.

Other key attributes you will need are:
  • Leadership experience– As this is a critical leadership role, you should have experience in leading people and be comfortable with a Servant Leadership style. Being able to influence, inspire and lead stakeholders, particularly members and leaders in the community, will be critical.
  • Resilience and Influence – Building a shared vision is challenging and complex. You will be resilient and able to handle conflict while bringing people along on a journey. Your exceptional influencing skills will help build cohesion, trust and respect.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills - You will be writing policies, documenting processes, and promoting new initiatives. This will require exceptional written communication skills. You will also be collaborating closely with the community and will demonstrate patience and respect while communicating complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proactive and Adaptable Approach – A unique facet of this role is it is not a highly structured position where your time will be closely micro-managed. You will need to be someone who understands the goals and principles of what you are working towards and then build a framework around the role to create outcomes that improve lives in the community in a way that can be measured. As such, you will be proactive and demonstrate high initiative to grow and develop your role.
  • Change Agent – You will be changing how programs are delivered and managed. Change is never easy, and you will need to be someone who embraces change and works toward outcomes.
  • Storytelling – You will be capturing learnings, producing insights and sharing stories and case studies to evidence social change.
