Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is looking for a Social and Emotional Well Being (SEWB) Community Worker that aims to practice within a primary health care framework to provide supports for clients across a range of Mental health, Alcohol, and other drugs (AOD) and Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) issues.
The SEWB Community Worker will provide one on one support to clients in a trauma informed, strengths-based approach with the aim of building their capacity and addressing their needs as identified in their case plan.
This is a Ramingining Community base role.

Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The Social and Emotional Well Being (SEWB) Community Worker will assist with referrals and intake procedures, Implement case plan to assist client to achieve their goals and provide individual (1:1) support to clients to navigate services in community such as Centrelink, medical appointments, housing, education, and any other relevant services.
Candidates must have a valid Working with Children Check/National Police Check and personal qualities that will contribute to the success of the program, including reliability, persistence, and the ability to find innovative solutions to challenges. also have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings and understanding of the issues faced by Yolngu people living in remote settings.
