About us

The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney (the Archdiocese) is made up of over 130 Parishes, ecclesial movements, lay communities and ethnic chaplaincies.  As well as nurturing the spiritual lives of the hundreds of thousands of Catholics, the Archdiocese supports thousands more in the local community through health and aged care, education, welfare and community services.

As an organisation, we are guided by our Mission, Vision & Values (https://www.sydneycatholic.org/mission-vision-values/) and are committed to supportive, respectful and ethical behaviour, with a dedication to justice, fairness and outreach to those in need.

The Justice and Peace Office is an agency of the Archdiocese that provides advice, research and educational activities on matters affecting social issues within the context of the Catholic Church’s social teachings. The office seeks to heighten the profile of Catholic Social Teaching within the Archdiocese and to both widen the knowledge of that teaching within the Church and the wider community.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently under limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
  • Strong commitment to the Catholic faith.

Benefits of working with us

  • Be part of a team providing impactful work and important services
  • Hybrid work environment and work-life balance
  • Generous salary packaging options that can increase your take home pay
