About the Office of Student Experience and Marketing
The Office of Student Experience & Marketing (SEM) is responsible for attracting and enrolling prospective students and optimising the students’ experience throughout their time at Western.

About the Role
The Office of Student Experience and Marketing are seeking an agile and creative individual to join the Social Media and Digital Operations teams to fill the position of Social Media& Digital Web Content Officer. If you’re looking for some diversity in your day-to-day and to make an impact on two key departments supporting the student experience, then this is the role for you!

By collaborating with the Social Media Coordinator, who oversees the Universitys Social Media presence across various platforms, this role will contribute to the development and execution of engaging content that aligns with the University’s strategy. The role actively participates in projects and activities designed to foster online community engagement and brand awareness, providing administrative and ad-hoc support to ensure Social Media efforts run smoothly and efficiently.

When tasked with digital operations deliverables, the successful applicant will proactively collaborate with owners and internal clients to maintain the accuracy and currency of existing web pages. The position will also contribute to the creation of new pages, adhering to established brand guidelines and best practices. Importantly, they will ensure all published content aligns with the Universitys online presence and user experience.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 December 2024 based at Western’s Hawkesbury Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. Hybrid work arrangements are available, allowing the successful candidate to work from home for up to two days a week.

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will: 

  • Have proven experience in both a Digital and Social Media space.
  •  Be highly skilled in organisation, stakeholder management, analysis, problem-solving and risk identification.
  •  Demonstrate a proven track record of professional experience in Social Media marketing, with a focus on organic Social Media. Including, but not limited to, skills such as Social Media reporting, creation of engaging and relevant social content, social channel moderation, scheduling and posting.
  •  Have a comprehensive understanding and practical application of digital marketing activities across web channels, including web analytics, SEO strategies, WC3 standards compliance, user journey mapping, and the ability to align business objectives with website design.
  • The Social Media& Digital Web Content Officer should champion the values of the Office of Student Experience & Marketing (SEM) and ensure their practice aligns with these values and service delivery contributing to the overall student experience to transform lives.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 $94,265 to $106,603 p.a. (comprising Salary of $79,655 to $90,081 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
