Social Planning Officer to join our team at the local government client in Blacktown. As a
Social Planning Officer, you will be a strategic member of the team in shaping and implementing social plans, promoting community development, and ensuring the delivery of essential services and facilities to the communities of Blacktown.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the implementation of social plans and report progress to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Community Development Team to plan and develop community services and facilities.
- Liaise with various levels of government for integrated service delivery.
- Undertake social research, impact assessments, and policy reviews.
- Provide professional advice to the Council on community needs and government policies.
- Implement volunteer coordination if required by the role.
- You will undertake special project work as determined by Council this is an opportunity to make a real difference in the Blacktown community.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Social Planning, community development, or related roles.
- Council experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and research abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant government policies and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding volunteer management practices is desirable.
