About your opportunity:
Casual position | Location: Townsville
Deliver clinical Social Work services as a member of the community based multidisciplinary allied health team, for adults/older persons within the Townsville University Hospital catchment.
The role works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, as well as across facilities and services to ensure the provision of a quality service, with a focus on complex health conditions, post-acute and rehabilitation focused interventions, and hospital avoidance and restorative programs.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge, expertise and skill in community social work practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of community based person centred practice, with clients presenting with chronic and aging health conditions and/or rehabilitation focused goals.
- Ability to work flexibly and responsively, in a fast paced and complex health environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, organisational ability, and ability to work with electronic scheduling and medical records.
Casual rates of $47.60 to $72.16 p.h. (HP3)
Requirements:
- The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
- Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
