Canterbury Drug Health Services is part of Sydney Local Health District which is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. SLHD facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
SLHD Drug Health Services offers a range of treatment and support services with drug and alcohol problems. Outpatient D&A services are located in clinics at the Canterbury Hospital and RPAH Hospital as well as Canterbury, Marrickville and Redfern Health Centres. Inpatient Services are provided at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. Selected programs offer services in community and via approved outreach arrangements. Our goal is to improve health, wellbeing and social outcomes for individuals, families and the community, related to drug and alcohol use.
Where you will be based
Canterbury Drug Health Services (DHS) aims to provide best practice health care from a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Our patients are a vulnerable group of people with substance use disorders who experience many challenges and hardships including, but not limited to homelessness, financial hardship, recent release from custody, trauma. DHS seeks to reduce these harms associated with substance use for individuals, families and communities and to prevent drug misuse. Canterbury Drug Health strives to deliver evidence based and patient centred care in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team and non-health partners to improve the health outcomes of individuals, their families and broader community.
This position will be based at Canterbury Hospital Drug Health Services Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program.
About the role
Plan, coordinate and deliver high quality Social Work care to patients/clients attending the Opioid Treatment Program at Canterbury Hospital to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for the patients/clients of the service.
We are looking for someone who…
- Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Has demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in Social Work clinical practice.
- Can work a Monday to Friday roster and has a NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) preferable.
