About the role
The Acute Care Service (ACS) Social Worker provides high quality evidence based clinical services, including triage and complex Mental Health assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team to people living with moderate to severe mental illness in crisis and to their family and the people who care for them. The primary focus of the role is to provide clinical intervention and strategies to manage consumers’ Mental Health crisis in the community in the least restrictive manner. Working independently and autonomously to provide expert clinical care within a community setting. Providing services through the application of the principles of best practice, the provision of education, clinical leadership and supervision.
If you have/are:
- Relevant qualification in Bachelor of Social Work and eligible for membership of The Australian Social Work Association prior to commencing. To be appointed as a Level 3 Health professional evidence must be provided of three years' clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a Level 3 practitioner
- Demonstrated clinical experience in working with people living with mental illness and their families/key support people in community Mental Health with demonstrated ability to provide case management and navigate complex clinical and psychosocial situations
- Applied understanding of the principles of person centred care, trauma informed care and recovery in the context of people living with mental illness
