RTW and Wellbeing CoordinatorAbout the Position
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the newly created RTW & Wellbeing Coordinator is responsible for implementing DSI Underground’s RTW program across Australia, supporting workers as they recover at work and assisting DSI Underground to meet its obligations as required under workers compensation legislation, including proactive preventative injury management. The RTW & Wellbeing Coordinator is also responsible for playing a lead role in employee wellbeing focused initiatives, projects and programs.
In this position you will:
Lead the implementation of the company RTW program across Australia.
Assist in the review and maintenance of the company RTW Program and related documentation and tools, including consultation with workers and their Representatives.
Lead the coordination of injured/ill workers recovery at work across Australia.
Work closely with the QHSE team and Managers to develop, monitor and review RTW Plans, including identifying suitable work opportunities.
Ensure adequate records for all injury management cases are held and maintained at all times, including keeping confidential case notes and records in line with relevant laws and guidelines.
Act as the primary contact for external stakeholders, such as the nominated treating doctor, insurer, treatment providers, union and workplace rehabilitation provider.
Promote the health benefits of good work, in the rehabilitation context, to the workforce.
Provide on-the-job coaching and education Managers on the RTW program, process and legislation.
Support the Head of HR and/or Senior HR Generalist (L&D and Projects) with the development, implementation and monitoring of wellbeing strategies to improve staff culture, morale and happiness in the workplace.
Investigate, design, implement and promote wellness initiatives, such as programs on exercise, mindfulness and meditation e.g. DSI Spirit Circle Wellness Centre.
Measure and report on return on investment on wellness initiatives.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have min. 3yrs experience in a similar RTW position in NSW, enjoy working in fast-paced and hands-on work environment and have strength in both RTW coordination and Wellbeing strategy implementation.
You will also possess all the following attributes:
Hold a NSW RTW Coordinator certification with working knowledge of NSW workers compensation legislation and the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in the system.
Highly effective communication skills – able to communicate clearly, actively listen to others and compile comprehensive written notes and correspondence.
Ability to effectively consult with and influence stakeholders.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with ability to gain consensus and commitment from others and resolve issues and conflicts.
Organised and skilled in time management.
Solid problem-solving skills – consider, analyse and develop solutions to barriers to recovery at work.
An understanding of Australian employment law.
High degree of confidentiality and understanding of Privacy laws.
Knowledge of health and wellness principles.
An approachable, friendly persona with empathy for others.
RTW Coordinator certification in WA, QLD, VIC & TAS is desirable.
