Remuneration package of up to $95,939 p.a., comprising base salary of $84086 p.a. (HP3.1), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role
This opportunity is for a New GraduateSocial Worker to join our Mental Health Service Group. As a New GraduateSocial Worker, you will be delivering Social Work clinical services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to stakeholder/consumers of Queensland Health. This is a twelve-month position involving four three-month rotations within a tertiary hospital setting.
The successful applicant will be allocated rotations in acute mental health and in both residential and community mental health settings.
Supervision will be provided to optimize clinical and professional skill development and learning throughout this twelve-month period.
Professional Development opportunities are also available to enhance clinical experience. New graduates are additionally supported by the Clinical Education Support Officer who provides support and mentorship during this transitionary period and facilitates a peer group community of practice and peer group learning opportunities. You will be working in a supportive and friendly department where autonomy and innovation are highly valued, and ongoing learning and professional development opportunities are encouraged and supported.
Role requirements

  • The successful applicant must hold a least a tertiary degree qualification in Social Work, and eligibility member of Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
