What you will be doing in this role:
- Taking ownership of complex problems, from inception through to production release.
- Sharing knowledge, take active part in tech talks and proposes other avenues of knowledge sharing.
- Solid understanding of architectural and design patterns and best practices as they related to web application development.
- Able to articulate the thinking, reasoning and details of the design or architectural pattern or principle.
- Embraces best practices and is aware of emerging technologies and methodologies used in our industry.
- Plays an active part in requirements review and estimation.
- Has a keen eye for software quality metrics, adheres to the agreed software standards.
What we hope you have to offer:
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
- 2 years + commercial experience in a JVM language.
- Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) such as MySQL, DynamoDB.
- Experience in building scalable, secure RESTful with thorough understanding of microservice design.
- Experience with testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock.
- Experience with Unix Based Systems, AWS, Intelij, Jenkins/Hudson CI, Git, Gradle, Grunt, Maven, Kotlin, Spring.
- Experience with containers (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes).
