Job Description
Software Engineering Manager
Macquarie Park (Hybrid)
Up to $210k + super
How comfortable are you with your team making mistakes?
I’m not talking about mistakes that need serious corrective action. Like major software production failures, dropping production databases or deleting backups.
But mistakes that can be fixed. Where you can do a postmortem, help your team get better and continue on their way with lessons learned.
This company is looking for the kind of Software Manager who wants to develop their people and has a background in medical technology.
You’d Come In To Manage a Highly Engaged, And Capable Team Of 8 Software Engineers. When We Spoke To Them, They Told Us Things Like
"we're the most exciting company in Sydney. The product is still young so there is still room for innovation. You're not chasing incremental improvements, it's about being disruptive."
Feel like being disruptive?
“You can’t improve what you can’t measure”. That’s the approach they’ve taken to pain management. They’re the first in the world to do that. It means you can play an important role in providing a permanent alternative solution to opioid use which impacts 60 million people globally.
You’ll manage the team building the software applications running on the devices.
A snapshot of the tech: C# and .NET, C++ Angular, Azure, TDD, Jira, Bitbucker, Restful API,
With $150m in funding and an initial launch in the US, your team will be responsible for the most important thing happening in the business today.
Deliver new product and Clinical Interfaces.
This is a new role born of growth. And your scope for growth ranges from software, mobile and cloud to data processing. All the things that will drive better patient insights and outcomes.
If you need a role with flexibility, you’ll have it. Whether it’s work from home, or in the office (Macquarie Park). There’s no clock watching here, you’ll be trusted to do what you need.
About You
You’re the kind of person who enjoys achieving success through others. You’ve got a background in medical device software product development and already have experience managing software teams.
You’ll need to be comfortable managing people who are (probably) smarter than you. From Biomedical PhD’s through to Principal Engineers who know a great deal about something very specific.
If that’s you, and you’d like to find out more, contact me, Julien at The Onset. You can email me , or call on 0406 158 ***.
Every application will get a response.
