IODM is looking for a Software Support Engineer to join the IT Operations team, and take part in supporting our current customers, and expanding our international markets. Our team is full of supportive, easy-going, hard-working people and we are looking for similar personalities.

This role is pivotal to the IT Operations team and its ability to maintain healthy relationships with its clients. 

The Role​

We are looking for a skilled Software Support Engineer who not only possesses excellent troubleshooting and customer support abilities but also has a solid background in software development. The ideal candidate should have a strong proficiency in C# programming and an understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role requires the ability to code, analyze codebases, and work closely with software development teams to address technical issues effectively.

What you will do:

  • Provide technical support to clients and end-users, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting software issues, and ensuring prompt resolution of technical problems.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to identify and resolve bugs, glitches, and performance bottlenecks in C# applications.
  • Utilize AWS services and tools to optimise the performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud-based applications.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of support processes, issue resolution, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement software updates, patches, and enhancements.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in software design, deployment processes, and support procedures.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Software Support Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in C# programming and a deep understanding of software development principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and familiarity with cloud-based architectures.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

You do not need help desk experience or Windows/Linux OS experience.

Our Development/Technology Stack:

Our solution runs on the AWS platform stack, using C#, .Net and React JS predominantly. 

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer).
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
