Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate - Insurance & Risk

Our role
We have a rare opportunity in our team for a Solicitor, Associate or Senior Associate to join our growing Insurance & Risk team in Brisbane. This is an excellent career opportunity for someone who has solid experience in Queensland workers compensation or defendant insurance and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in insurance litigation. Experience in acting for Defendants/Insurers in Personal Injury claims is preferred but not essential.
You can expect to:

• Service a moderate file load of personal injuries insurance claims under both the workers’ compensation and PIPA regimes;
• Undertake your own advocacy at the compulsory conference of those claims;
• Prepare Reasons for Decision in relation to statutory workers’ compensation claims under supervision and/or supervise junior practitioners in the preparation of Reasons for Decision;
• Receive mentoring and supervision from multiple senior practitioners and/or Partners, providing you with exposure to various working styles;
• Contribute to business development initiatives.

The right person will be adept in building and developing client relationships. You pride yourself on your service skills and pragmatic approach to identifying the best outcomes for your clients.
You will also have well developed drafting and research skills with the ability to run files autonomously and with guidance from senior members of the team. You are someone who is highly organised with excellent file management skills. You enjoy thinking on your feet and can think outside the box when it comes to identifying the broad range of potential issues that could arise in the progression of your files.
