Corporate M&A team
The market-leading M&A practice has a long-standing reputation for advising corporate clients across multiple jurisdictions, on a number of complex corporate matters including M&A, joint venture, takeover, demerger and corporate restructuring transactions.
They are involved in advising some of the largest and most ambitious organisations across all major regions of the globe, on various transaction matters including significant cross-border mergers and acquisitions, ground-breaking projects and privatisations.
The Role
This role will see you working closely with a range of leading and infamous Partners across their Corporate group, on complex yet interesting transactions and projects. You will also have the chance to collaborate with colleagues worldwide, particularly throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Being involved in all aspects of corporate transactions including public and private M&A deals and takeovers for listed companies across a range of sectors and including cross border transactions;
- Drafting and negotiating key transaction documents, and providing advice on areas of legal risk for clients;
- Managing and building external client relationships, including assisting with business development activities for key existing clients and new clients; and
- Mentoring junior associates in the team and assisting with providing training to junior associates both in the team and across the firm.
To be successful, you will have be a high-quality lawyer with at least 3 years' post-admission experience in corporate matters.
In addition, you will have the following:
- The ability to work on challenging and complex work within tight deadlines
- Excellent legal skills and practical business acumen
- Strong academic record
- Be proactive and able to work both collaboratively and autonomously within a leading team
- Exceptional client relation skills to build effective working relationships
