As a result of a secured engagement with one of our National Security partners, Helix requires a Solution Architect to join us on a long-term contract (12 months with expected extensions).
We're looking for a Solution Architect with proven experience of solving complex problems, who thrives working as part of a team to push boundaries and is passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical intelligence and national security customers.
Solution Architect key responsibilities:
- Leading the vision and development of infrastructure and network architecture (interim and future states) for complex ICT systems, based on organisational strategies and plans.
- Reviewing the Operational Concept Document (OCD), Function & Performance Specification (FPS), System Overview Document (SOD), Detailed Design and other technical documents relating to ICT infrastructure and network.
- Leading infrastructure and network uplift projects from the architecture and design standpoint, liaising with technical specialists from vendors as required.
- Validating business requirements and ensuring traceability to solution designs and system configurations.
- Developing and updating Solution Architecture Definition (SAD) and High Level Design (HLD) to meet the environment integration requirements.
- Coordinating with internal agencies within Defence to elicit, analyse and finalise infrastructure and networking requirements within the Defence environment
- Supporting the technical teams in the development and documentation of gap and risk assessments around the architecture and integration of ICT solutions.
- Contribute to a capability gap analysis based on the differences between the current and target state architectures and provide recommendations.
Solution Architect essential experience & capability:
- CISCO CCDE/CCIE Data Centre/CCAr/ACIP or equivalent.
- TOGAF, Business Analysis, Business Process Modelling (BPM) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction and meet allocated technical, business and project objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and meet milestones.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to assign tasks and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to perform an extensive range and variety of complex technical and/or professional work activities.
- Demonstrated ability to apply fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of context and provide advice on the available standards, methods, tools and applicant tools and information relevant to own specialism and make appropriate choices from alternatives.
- Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between own specialism and wider customer/organisational requirement.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives
- Demonstrated creativity, innovation and ethical thinking in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
- Domestic / International Travel may be required.
- Top Secret (PV) clearance is a minimum requirement for this environment
