Sous Chef | The Gibson

The Sous Chef reports to The Gibson’s Head Chef and is responsible for supporting the kitchen team. You will have a well-rounded understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients and styles of cookery. You will have a background of managing a small but busy team where, you have displayed leadership and creativity. 

This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your previous experience to the test.

A few of your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in all food preparation and collaborates with the Head Chef 
• Assisting in the design of food specials, assist with menu planning, daily food specials and offers
• Producing high quality grills, plated meals, including design and taste
• Ensuring that all food is to a safe, quality standard at all times

What we are looking for:

• Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under own direction
• Delivers on the needs of the customer with the intention to exceed their expectations
• Focuses on needs of The Gibson and target customers
• Adapts to the Team and assists in building a positive Team spirit

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Possession of relevant trade qualification 
• At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within commercial catering with responsibility for staff supervision
• Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills

You will be an experienced Sous Chef with passion for delivering an exceptional experience and will have a proven track record in the industry. You will be able to work under pressure, managing timelines, making decisions whilst remaining calm at all times.
