Executive Contract Manager (Remuneration Package Range $189,043 - $210,788)OperationsFixed vacancy for up to 4 years available in Alice Springs At Territory Generation, we align everything we do with our core values of Focus, Integrity, Respect, Safety and Teamwork (FIRST). We use gas, diesel, and solar technologies to provide power across the Territory.Your New RoleReporting to the Regional Manager South, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation and production of electricity in the Southern region: Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Yulara and Kings Canyon Power Stations.You will ensure all specific aspects associated with the Southern Region Operations and Production, including personnel, safety, plant operations, environmental management, financial performance, personnel management, team culture are met.Your accountabilities include:Providing leadership to maintain a positive HSE culture across the team ensuring safety and environmental KPIs are achieved in compliance with relevant Safety & Environmental Management plans.Foster a production driven and outcome-based team culture that is aligned with Territory Generation’s values, vital behaviours, and non-negotiables.Effective implementation and utilisation of operational and maintenance systems, processes, and resources to ensure that Territory Generation’s business objectives are achieved.Ensure the reliability and performance of critical plant under emergency situations (e.g. black start functionality and testing).Within Plant Failure processes, assume the role and responsibilities of Incident and Action Manager (primarily for the South)Influence plant outages and resourcing levels to minimise impact on production costs and generation reliability, efficiently manage fuel requirements. Monitor and evaluate performance of production to resolve deviations and maximise the efficiency of generated electricity required to meet power system demand and ancillary services.Leading the 24/7 operational shift-based team to achieve established objectives through effective performance management and monitoring, ensuring optimal coverage of rosters to manage fatigue. In addition, you will ensure effective staffing strategies are implemented including succession planning, resource planning and training & development.Overseeing and being accountable for all operational performance aspects (financial and non-financial) of the power stations, including developing and reviewing relevant management reports. Delivery of the Asset Management and Site Operational Plan/Roadmap for the South.Carrying out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values, and business strategies.Your skills & experience:Leadership skills and experience including the development and fostering of an appropriate culture.Superior interpersonal skills particularly in communication, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution in order to balance competing demands and influence outcomes.Minimum ten years overall experience in power generation and/or heavy industry or mining, with a minimum of five years held at a Managerial / Supervisory position.Comprehensive power generation experience.Expert knowledge of OHS&E legislation and duty of care with significant experience in safety management, environmental management and industrial relations and a commitment to safe working behaviours.Experience in isolated grid networks and extensive experience in the operation of medium sized power station plant including the management of operational staff including developing and maintaining shift rosters.Proven record of effectively managing budgets, financial and non-financial performance, projects, systems, and personnel whilst maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to quality processes, as well as previous experience leading and managing change initiatives.Demonstrated experience in writing complex reports and procedures, which include but are not limited to: plant and safety incident reports, project feasibility and justification reports, root cause analysis investigations, periodic management reports explaining financial and non-financial performance etc.Ability to carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values, and strategies. Desirable skills & experience:Trade or tertiary qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering; process engineering or maintenance management.Operational experience in a load following power station with more than 50MW installed capacity.Knowledge of computer-based work scheduling and management systems.This is a 4-year fixed term contract role and requires Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency or other eligible visa type to be able to work in Australia full time in a permanent ongoing role.This position is a residential role based in Alice Springs.
