About The School: Join a leading special education school providing tailored learning environments for students from kindergarten to year 12. Position Overview: This school are seeking a passionate and qualified Classroom Teacher to join their team in a shared teaching space, focusing on Grade 1-3 students. This role is crucial in delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) and fostering a supportive learning environment where each child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that are adapted to the individual needs of students with intellectual and learning disabilities.
Implement IEPs effectively, ensuring learning goals are met through differentiated instruction and innovative teaching methods.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, aides, and support staff to provide holistic support to students.
Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes inclusivity, respect, and active participation among students.
Monitor student progress closely, assess learning outcomes, and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Special Education preferred).
Valid teaching certification/license for the appropriate grade level and state requirements.
Proven experience working with students with moderate to severe intellectual and learning disabilities.
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational needs of students with diverse abilities.
