So what does a Specialised Carer - Dementia Care do?
Because we place our resident care at the heart of all we do, our Model of Care is dementia-focussed to ensure residents get our full attention and passion. Along with best practice, targeted training, you will be running the cottage like a home, which will include:
- Personal care - showering, grooming, toileting, dressing
- Domestic assistance - cooking, cleaning and laundry
- Engaging with the residents, ensuring they are involved in the activities they WANT to do.
- Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the conditions of residents within your skills and competencies.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Demonstrate reliability and passion to commit to shifts
- Have sound knowledge & experience/ of people living with Dementia & their needs
- Have a genuine passion for serving elderly people & want to make a difference in their lives
- Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights & weekends
- Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative
- No prior qualifications are needed, full training and support is provided at step of your journey.
