About the role
We are currently seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Intake & Assessment) to join us on a permanent full-timebasis, in Darwin City.
This position will support intake assessment (risk and needs), service linkage and brief intervention for all victim survivors of Family Violence contacting the the Salvation Army Family Violence Service (TSA FVS) in the Darwin and Palmerston areas. The role will be in instrumental in delivering high quality, safe and effective Family Violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery. The incumbent to this role will work closely with the refuge and outreach case management teams on allocation and specialist FV case management support.
Role responsibilities
- Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals consistent with the RAMF and relevant risk assessment tools, operational guidelines and service specifications
- Identify, assess and prioritise risk and needs of women and children who have, or are experiencing Family Violence
- Brief Intervention/Interim case management support is provided to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice
- Assessment is made of the client's issues, needs and circumstances at initial intake and coordinated handover to the Specialist Family Violence Practitioner is facilitated
This is a permanent full-time position, located in Darwin City, NT. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.
The ideal candidate would have
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential
- Experience working in the Family Violence sector is desirable
- Experience in Specialist Family Violence and/ or child wellbeing work is highly desirable
- Demonstrated intake and case management experience and skills
- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required
- Advance computer skills including experience in data and record management
- Valid Working with Children Check
