AddressBrunel International is seeking an experienced Specialist Mechanical Concentrator to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance team in Papua New Guinea. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join a growing team and contribute to the success of our operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the maintenance of Fixed Plant equipment, including including Mills, Pumps, Float banks, Autoclaves and Oxygen plants. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring that all equipment is operating at optimal levels. The Specialist Mechanical Concentrator will work closely with other members of the Fixed Plant Maintenance team to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning: Developing and implementing maintenance strategies for various Fixed Plant equipment, including Mills, Pumps, Float banks, Autoclaves, and Oxygen plants.
- Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on the mentioned equipment to prevent breakdowns, optimize performance, and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnosing mechanical issues, identifying root causes of equipment failures, and executing corrective actions promptly to restore functionality.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental protocols. Implementing best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with other departments, such as operations, engineering, and procurement, to coordinate maintenance activities, procure necessary parts or services, and optimize equipment performance.
- Training and Development: Providing guidance, training, and technical support to maintenance teams to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring efficient handling of equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, or upgrades in equipment and maintenance processes. Implementing innovative solutions to enhance overall plant performance.
- Trade Qualification preferably in Mechanical space or related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in Fixed Plant maintenance
- Knowledge of mechanical components and systems used in Fixed Plant operations
- Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in remote locations with limited resources
- FIFO roster 21 days on / 14 days off
- Ensuite style accommodation / good security onsite / Gym / full medical facilities onsite
