Specialist Medical Receptionist

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Specialist Medical Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis. Working directly with specialist surgeons and as the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scheduling patient appointments,
• Responding to patient queries (telephone and email) in a timely manner,
• Managing regular and ad-hoc theatre lists at various hospitals (including gaining necessary approvals and paperwork from patients, employers, insurers), 
• Issuing invoices and managing payments from patients, employers and/or insurers, 
• Reviewing incoming correspondence and directing to the appropriate contact,
• Maintaining professional outgoing correspondence on behalf of specialist surgeons (consultation letters, referrals), and
• Liaising with allied health professionals to coordinate patient appointments.

Selection Criteria

• Previous experience in medical administration/reception or tertiary qualification in medical/health sciences (highly desirable),
• Well-developed organisation and time management skills, 
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), 
• High-level attention to detail, and 
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
