Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Specialist Medical Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis. Working directly with specialist surgeons and as the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scheduling patient appointments,
- Responding to patient queries (telephone and email) in a timely manner,
- Managing regular and ad-hoc theatre lists at various hospitals (including gaining necessary approvals and paperwork from patients, employers, insurers),
- Issuing invoices and managing payments from patients, employers and/or insurers,
- Reviewing incoming correspondence and directing to the appropriate contact,
- Maintaining professional outgoing correspondence on behalf of specialist surgeons (consultation letters, referrals), and
- Liaising with allied health professionals to coordinate patient appointments.
Selection Criteria
- Previous experience in medical administration/reception or tertiary qualification in medical/health sciences (highly desirable),
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills,
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written),
- High-level attention to detail, and
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
