About the Role:
As a Specialist Network Operator (Jet Vac Truck Operator), you will implement operational and maintenance solutions to optimise wastewater network assets for our customers. Safety, cost-effectiveness, and environmental best practices are at the core of what we do.
We are seeking a candidate with experience in operating the Jet Vac Truck, possessing a HR license, and is physical fit. Ideally, you can handle relining, read sewer network plans, and understand that this role is more than a job - it's a lifestyle. You must be comfortable with living away from home, being on call, and open to diverse challenges.
We welcome individuals from any background who are enthusiastic, open-minded, proactive and ready to give it their all. Based at Woodside with extra opportunities to work in areas like Lower Murray, Port Elliot, and the south-east region, we need someone willing to work away when required. A living-away allowance is provided.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Offer technical expertise for complex network issues, ensuring efficient business support
- Investigate and diagnose wastewater network faults, providing optimal resolution recommendations
- Conduct specialised trenchless pipe repairs, prioritise safety in hydro-excavation, and ensure maintenance of Jet Vac Combo Truck to minimise downtime
- Directly engage customers, communicating service interruptions, timeframes, and rectification progress
- Offer technical expertise on sewer infrastructure to internal stakeholders for informed decision-making and preventing repeat wastewater network faults
- Implement cutting-edge wastewater solutions for safe, timely, and cost-effective network repairs
- Contribute technical feedback for the review and improvement of Wastewater Standards in network operations and maintenance
- Train and mentor on sewer operations, emphasising best practices, safety, and environmental considerations
- Provide guidance on equipment procurement and conduct informational courses for staff on wastewater network operations
- Train and mentor staff on sewer operations, focusing on best practices, safety, environmental considerations, equipment procurement, and wastewater network operations
- Technical understanding of Wastewater Networks
- Sound knowledge of Jet/Vac Operations
- Effective communication skills and capable writing of reports
- Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR)
- Confined Space Entry certificate
- Ability to read wastewater maps and interpret 'as-constructed' drawings
- Knowledge and experience in trenchless pipe repair (highly desirable)
- Able to communicate professional and technical advice across varying business units (highly desirable)
