About the role
We have an opportunity for a Specialist Psychologist to be part of our Domestic & Family Violence Registry, Capability, Performance & Youth Command team. This position is responsible for providing indirect psychological assessments of Registerable Persons on the Child Protection Register (CPR), NSW Police Force. The Specialist Psychologist will provide evidence-based assessment and psychological advice to assist in the police management of offenders on the Child Protection Register. The Specialist Psychologist will work within the Child Protection Registry comprising of police and administration staff, assist in the development and provision of training programs for police specific to assessing and managing offenders on the CPR, and participate in sex offender specific research as required.

Target Question 1:
The Forensic / Clinic Psychologist is a dynamic role and is responsible for providing guidance to NSWPF Domestic & Family Violence Registry (DFVR) in the development of effective case management strategies which inform police targeting and monitoring of DV dangerous offenders. The DFVR is a new command and has evolved into an operational phase.
Please outline your experience in developing, systems, training, presentations and research packages for commands or units in relation to High Risk and Dangerous Offenders? Highlight any success and outcomes.
Target Question 2:
A key accountability to the role description is the development of adept predictive assessments and management strategies, tailored towards an offender’s dangerousness and to develop a model of “DV Prediction & Escalation” (similar to CPR Static 99R).
Please outline your skill set and expertise in relation to the development of an adept predictive assessment. What were key areas you identified, what were the challenges and the outcomes of the assessment?
