Department: Specimen Collection – North West Pathology
Location: Queenstown, West Coast - Tasmania
About the Role:
- Collect pathology specimens from patients in our collection room and the hospital
- Store and process pathology specimens
- Patient reception and response to client enquiries
- Record patient information
- Attend to the well-being of patients
- Liaise with patients and referring doctors
- Use of laboratory application software
Selection Criteria:
- Flexibility to work after hours if required
- Able to commit to a training program for up to 6 weeks full time in Burnie
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to act independently within established guidelines, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement
- High standards in applying attention to detail
- An unrestricted Australian driver's licence
- Any previous phlebotomy experience will be considered an advantage
If successful, your offer will be dependent upon the provision of a current National Police Check (issued within the last 3 months) and a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
