Specimen Collector (Phlebotomist) - Queenstown, Tasmania

Status:                           Fixed term – 12 months

                                       Part time and/or Full time 

Department:                  Specimen Collection – North West Pathology 

Location:                       Queenstown, West Coast - Tasmania

About the Role:

• Collect pathology specimens from patients in our collection room and the hospital
• Store and process pathology specimens
• Patient reception and response to client enquiries
• Record patient information
• Attend to the well-being of patients
• Liaise with patients and referring doctors
• Use of laboratory application software 

Selection Criteria:      

1. Flexibility  to work after hours if required 
2. Able to commit to a training program for up to 6 weeks full time in Burnie
3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
4. Proven ability to act independently within established guidelines, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement
5. High standards in applying attention to detail
6. An unrestricted Australian driver's licence
7. Any previous phlebotomy experience will be considered an advantage

If successful, your offer will be dependent upon the provision of a current National Police Check (issued within the last 3 months) and a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
