About Monash Health Pathology Service  

You will be joining Monash Health at an exciting time as we work in partnership with Alfred Health to be the premier shared public pathology service in Victoria.  As a member of the pathology team you will be helping shape the direction of the partnership.  

Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health. It is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 6 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional laboratories located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There are currently 18 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services. 

About the Role - Full time Permanent Ongoing  

The supervisor needs a very good understanding of pathology Specimen Reception with several years’ experience. In addition they require an excellent understanding of processes and procedures and had practical experience of learning methodologies and how to conduct on the job training and mentoring of employees. He/she is required to input and extract data and produce reports, manage a number of more complex information systems, balance their operation and provide routine data support to their manager. The incumbent is expected to be responsive to circumstances and regularly modify work priorities to meet the needs of the team. You will be part of a 24-hour roster that rotates to other Monash locations as needed. Health and Safety is essential requirements of the position in order to protect yourself and others. All personnel are required to wear approved safety glasses in conjunction with other personal protective equipment (provided by Monash health). This is a full time 76 hours fortnight role within Specimen Reception Team.
