Job description

Deliver high quality and contemporary Speech Pathology clinical services to inpatients and outpatients of The Prince Charles Hospital.

About the role

Permanent and fixed term temporary opportunities available.

This is a rotational position delivering high quality and contemporary Speech Pathology clinical services to inpatients and outpatients of The Prince Charles Hospital. This involves the assessment and management of adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders with more complex patient management performed with supervision and support.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver contemporary Speech Pathology clinical services in both acute and sub-acute/rehabilitation hospital settings to patients with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
  • Undertake assessment, treatment and management of adults, in varied caseloads, considering their physical, social, psychological and cognitive needs using a variety of formal and informal materials, procedures and techniques.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through self-directed learning, active participation within the Speech Pathology and multidisciplinary teams and by engaging in professional development activities, including performance appraisal and development.
