About the role
Multiple positions are available for Grade 2 Speech Pathologists to join the Speech Pathology / Allied Health teams on a permanent, full time & part time basis. These are ongoing leave cover roles which offers the opportunity to work across the continuum of care from acute inpatients to ambulatory care across Eastern Health Campuses, including Angliss Hospital & Community Rehabilitation Centre, Box Hill, Maroondah & Healesville Hospitals, the Peter James Centre and Wantirna Health.
You will enjoy a diverse Adult Caseload managing a range of speech, language and swallowing disorders delivered across care streams. Clinical areas are varied, including acute medical wards, intensive care, sub-acute units (neurological/orthopaedic rehabilitation and GEM) as well as ambulatory care services. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will work closely with clients and their families. You will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic speech pathology team and be supported with regular supervision, opportunities for professional development and undertake student supervision, guided by our learning and teaching program. We also offer in-house learning pathways for VFSS, tracheostomy and FEES.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Approved Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Relevant experience in assessment, treatment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in acute, rehabilitation and/or ambulatory care settings
- The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
- A strong commitment to high quality care in line with Eastern Health values
- Current driver’s license and access to vehicle
- Competence in the administration, interpretation and reporting of video fluoroscopic swallowing assessments and experience working with Allied Health Assistants is highly desirable, but not essential to be considered for this role
