About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a dedicated, outgoing and purpose driven Speech Pathologist to join the Commonwealth Home Support Program team.This program is an amazing opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to build on their experience by working with a diverse client base. This role isn’t your typical style of Speech Pathology – through this program you will be working with clients who have a wide range of challenges, and you will be able to work with clients with a specific goal in mind.You will be working with clients on reabling them in their homes for short, 12 week blocks. Whilst working with the clients you will have the opportunity to view their life as a whole and work with them to achieve their vision of rehabilitation. To provide a high quality speech pathology service to patients/clients and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting. The Speech Pathologist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks.Where You'll Be Working

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment and management in paediatrics and/or adult caseloads
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in modifying and adapting assessments and interventions to meet the need of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations
  • Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
