Alfred Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS)
Alfred CYMHS is one component of the Department of Mental & Addiction Health at Alfred Health. We are a community-based service providing comprehensive assessment, treatment and case management to infants, children, adolescents and young people up to the age of 25 years of age presenting with behavioural, emotional, psychiatric or developmental difficulties.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The Speech Pathology allied health transition position is a structured and supportive 12-month program, which enables graduated Speech Pathologists to gain confidence and competency working in the public mental health sector.
The overall aim is for clinicians who might have worked primarily within their specific discipline to be supported in delivering high quality client-centred care to people living with serious mental illness.
The Speech Pathology Allied Health clinician will be based in multi-disciplinary teams and will provide a discipline specific and case management role to clients at the Child Youth Mental health Service.
WHAT YOU'VE GOT
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology (Essential)
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia [Essential]
- A sound knowledge of current Speech Pathology practices relevant to the position and its theoretical base
- Clinical paediatric experience or strong interest in children and / or adolescents presenting with social, emotional, learning and behavioural problems
- Appropriate work visa
- Current Victorian Driver's License
- Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one and be willing to undergo a Background Check
