About the role
As Sport and Recreation Officer you will be responsible for establishing, managing and maintaining strong partnerships with local, regional and state Sport and Recreation organisations and other key stakeholders with regards to the use of Council's Sport and Recreation and community facilities, programs and services.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop strong customer relationships and partnerships between council, local, regional and state sport, recreation and community organisations
- Coordinate sporting club and community group use of council sporting and community facilities
- Provide specialist information, advice and assistance to Sport and Recreation organisations and council officers and management
- Provide input towards sport specific facility planning, development and maintenance
- Facilitate opportunities that encourage increased participation in Sport and Recreation

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A degree in Exercise Physiology, Leisure, Sport and Recreation, Recreation or Sport Administration/Management, Public Health or similar, or significant progress towards obtaining same
- A current Queensland "C" class driver's licence
- Experience working in local government and local sporting organisations
- Substantial skill in development of partnerships within an organisation as well as with external customers and stakeholders
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of a wide range of Sport and Recreation activities and facilities and the functioning of Sport and Recreation organisations
- Strong communication skills, community focused and have the ability to manage multiple issues and projects/tasks
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership

This is a permanent full-time, Level 5 position with a salary commencing at $93,169 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
