The opportunity:

As the Senior Art Director at M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment you will think differently to a traditional advertising creative with a focus on storytelling across multiple channels with a big focus on earned, (The key difference is knowing how to come up with a PR idea, not just how to PR an advertising idea!) delivering campaigns including but not limited to sponsorship, brand partnerships, experiential, influencer, social and content.

You’ll have a love for Sport & Entertainment and a deep interest in culture, sub-cultures and the niche audiences within those subcultures and you’ll create work that reflects the new ways audiences cultivate their passions.

You’ll be as happy working alongside a Senior Copywriter in concepting campaign ideas as you are working solo with Strategists, designers or PR & Partnerships specialists when relevant for the project at hand.

The Senior Art Director is responsible for all visual elements of the work in collaboration with the designers, and is accountable for the look and feel of the work, from concept through production to completion.

A snapshot of what you'll do:

  • Drive brilliance in ideas, craft and strategy across all channel touch points
  • Responsible for establishing creative direction across key client projects, adapting strategic insights from creative briefs into visually compelling campaigns
  • Work closely with client and strategic leads as well as the Managing Director to effectively package and sell integrated campaigns and ideas to our clients.
  • Effectively promote our client’s brands, engage their target audience, and drive business objectives with your keen eye for design, visual storytelling and deep understanding of visually impactful campaigns
  • Develop compelling art direction across all campaign touch points, including but not limited to, video content, social posts, PR materials, activations and presentation decks
  • Uphold brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing touchpoints, while also exploring new creative directions to keep our brands fresh and relevant.
  • Be comfortable designing own presentations, photoshop mockups, key visuals, logo lock-ups, digital and social assets, basic editing and scamping/illustrating ideas and storyboards.
  • Have a good understanding of UX design for digital and experiential.
  • Stay abreast of industry, cultural, and social trends, emerging technologies, and creative techniques to drive continuous innovation and improvement in marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the experiential production team to develop engaging and immersive brand experiences. Creating moodboards, and visual and design direction on all activation touch points.
  • Manage creative outputs through the production process, including creation/oversight of storyboards and visual treatments for shoots, briefing talent and influencers, providing direction for shoots, editing and post production
  • Be an expert in storytelling, keeping up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, news, and events.
  • Directly contribute to new business pitches for the Agency, and across the group.
  • Creatively inspire and share work with the wider Sport & Entertainment team
  • Partner with all Sport & Entertainment team members to help identify possibilities for creative solutions that connect consumers with clients’ brands in personal and memorable ways
  • Collaborate and contribute to the creative process across M&C Saatchi group projects, showcasing Sport & Entertainment specialism in Partnerships, PR & Activations generating award-winning best-in-class work.

Your ideal experience:

  • Proven experience within a creative role at a senior level
  • Ideally a portfolio of work to share
  • Experience working in tandem with a Copywriter
