We are looking for a new Sports League Manager to join our team at Urban Rec Sydney! This entry-level management position is a full-time salary within a 4-day work week. The job requires a 60:40 mix of day and evening work.
Urban Rec is a recreational sports company operating in 9 cities across Australia, currently overseeing 5,600+ teams per annum. We are a unique community that has transformed the way people enjoy sports for over a decade. Urban Rec offers a fun, inclusive environment for players of all skill levels.
We run Sports Leagues, events, and tournaments.
You don’t need to have a ton of previous experience in the sports industry or manager roles, you just have to have the right attitude and a good work ethic. This is an epic opportunity to gain tons of industry experience within a very fun and collaborative team.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who (like our brand) goes above and beyond. You should be confident and approachable. We would also like this person to have excellent attention to detail and a knack for multi-tasking. Running multiple events per night comes with lots of moving parts, and you need to be one step ahead at all times.
- Based in Sydney
- Have a car, or be able to drive to visit league/sports and events
- Available and flexible to work within our unique hours of operation 11-9pm, daily
- Super organised and very thorough
- Some marketing experience or a keen interest to learn
- A confident person, who can think for yourself
- Able to handle conflict, and complaints
- Willing to go to extra lengths to get the job done
- A sport lover who knows all sports
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Driving the recruitment of new teams and individuals to join the club
- Recruit, hire and train and manage your own team of casual event staff (League Hosts)
- Manage incoming enquires
- Attend weekly meetings about operational issues and events
- Manage the operations/logistics needs for each league, including equipment, supplies, condition of venues, and lighting.
- Meet all teams within leagues, by attending leagues each night
- Create an epic member experience by running social events, theme nights and fun activations throughout the season.
- Follow up on any incidents, low fun points ratings, and reports to manage member experience.
- Maintain consistent communication with all participants throughout the season
- Manage events calendar including social events and partner events
HOURS AND PAY
We generally operate on a 4-day work week. The full-time hours are Monday to Thursday 11 am to 9 pm. Competitive Salary, Car Allowance and Bonus Potential.
