As a member of the Chief Technology Office (CTO), you will contribute to all aspects of the technology products and services we deliver, from technical strategy and design to coding to deployment to operation. We provide platform capabilities such as Private/Public cloud host, CI/CD, ServiceNow Platform including Service Management and Observability tooling that is leveraged across all Business Unit Platforms within the Bank to deliver industry-leading software including: CommBank App, Netbank, CommSec, CommBiz and Commbank.com.au.

Our ServiceNow team are responsible for the build and maintenance of enterprise scale ServiceNow Platform serving multiple capabilities across the bank including ITSM/ITOM, IRM, SecOps, and Employee workflow modules.
You will be part of a squad of ServiceNow DevOps Engineers, work with our Staff Engineers and Engineering Managers to ensure the availability and reliability of the ServiceNow platform. This role will support design and implementation of integrations and related automation, adoption of coding best practices, CI/CD and technical debt management of the platform. As a Sr Software Engineer, you will be responsible for triaging and troubleshooting production incidents, develop fixes, delivering new features while ensuring compliance with established standards and policies. You will have a strong background in production support, familiarity with Integrations standards, ServiceNow platform management and a passion for staying current with emerging technologies and trends. This is chance to support a critical platform that is driving transformational changes across the group, specifically in Technology enablement.

We are interested in hearing from people who are:
- Experienced in supporting large ServiceNow implementations
- Skilled in design, development, testing and implementation of ServiceNow integrations
- Experienced in running operations aligned to ITIL framework and/or SRE principles
- Able to work with a sense of urgency by understanding business impacts and with excellent incident response skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these, or a willing to learn these skillsets, (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team!

- ServiceNow development experience, with related certifications
- Understanding of ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM modules
- Strong technical experience in integrating with External Systems – via REST API’s, Kafka Event Streams and other Integration technologies
- Experience and knowledge of SDLC, ITIL, Cloud Environments (AWS, Azure, Linux), CI/CD pipeline, automation, testing, scripting, networking and related technologies highly advantageous.
- Experience in ITIL framework, DevOps ways of working
